Benjamin Lufele Rangers - Roodepoort

Train them whilst they are still young
The Lufele Rangers were discovered by the Goldrush Founder, Ray Hipkin. In 2015 Benjamin Lufele started the club with 36 players and has since doubled the number to a total of 80 children which includes a girls’ team.

The club consists of abandoned street children and orphans who are given a life line through physical training and are taught self-control in order to excel in life.

The benefits of such projects cannot be quantified as they build the self-esteem of the children and help instil a sense of discipline. An example of this being the regular soccer training sessions the children are required to attend, where they are also taught the importance of education and encouraged not drop to out of school.

Goldrush contributes by donating funds to ensure that the children have transport, soccer kits and boots; and they are well fed. These children are flourishing as they are winning awards and accolades in various leagues around Gauteng. The most notable league is the Mogale City league, with initiatives such as the ‘sky is the limit for the future generation’.
